Egg-stra Special Soldiers
There’s not many things better than freshly boiled eggs and perfect soldiers with crunch and lashings of butter for breakfast. Here’s how we like our eggs in the morning:
Our sea salt and black pepper tiger loaf makes superb and special soldiers to dip into an expertly boiled egg. The key to an excellent soldier is making sure there is adequate butter to give flavour, but retain the crispness.
The perfect soft boiled egg
Bring a pan of water to the boil rapidly, and reduce to a simmer. Add 2 British free range eggs and simmer for 2 minutes if they have come from room temperature and 3 minutes if they are out of the fridge. The coolness from fridge eggs will bring the overall temperature down, which is where many people slip up with boiled eggs. Cover the pan with a lid, and leave for an additional 2 minutes.
Pop into your favourite egg cup, and crack a little Cornish Sea Salt and Pepper over the top.
Tip: Add some toasted seeds to give some extra protein and a delicious flavour.
