We’ve arrived in Melksham!
Warrens Bakery has now arrived in Melksham, the first store in Wilshire to offer our traditional bakes. The new bakery, which officially opened on Wednesday 14th November is centrally located on Melksham High Street and created five jobs for local residents. Opening in partnership with North Devon couple Julie and Trevor Kerby, the takeaway bakery showcases our artisan range of breads, iconic pasties, freshly made sandwiches, sweet and savoury treats, speciality Cornish delicacies and on-the-go snacks.
Established in 1860, Warrens Bakery is proud to be the oldest bakery in Cornwall and recognised as the oldest Cornish pasty maker in the world. Just last month our hard work saw us named the winner of the highly sought-after ‘Craft Bakery Business Award’ at the National Baking Industry Awards, a huge mark of recognition. With the rise in popularity of craft baking, Warrens Bakery is proud to put a firm focus on provenance, hand crafted skill and innovation. The opening in Melksham means residents, shoppers and visitors won’t have to travel far to pick up a hand-crimped taste of Warrens Bakery’s iconic pasties, often enjoyed during holidays by the coast.
Julie Kerby, who opened the store with her husband, Trevor, adds: “Melksham is a market town with traditional values. As Cornwall’s oldest bakery, Warrens Bakery, is founded on traditional values too, we therefore thought what could be better than a Warrens Bakery in Melksham. They are a perfect fit! We are excited to bring a slice of Cornish tradition to the heart of Wiltshire and open the very first Warrens Bakery in the county.”
The Melksham opening is part of wider plans for more stores not only in the Westcountry but also nationally, as we look to share the best of British craft baking with the nation. Since opening our first franchised store last year, the bakery has experienced rapid growth and plans to open hundreds of new stores in the next five years. To find your nearest store click here.
