We’re Proud to Name the RNLI as Our Charity of the Year
Story by: Victoria Clark | June 22, 2026
We’re delighted to announce that the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is our new Charity of the Year.
Our colleagues selected the RNLI in a company-wide vote, and over the next 12 months we’ll be organising fundraising activities across our bakeries to support its vital search, rescue and lifesaving work.
As part of the partnership, we’ll donate 10p from every bottle of still or sparkling water sold in our stores. Customers will also be able to contribute through collection tins in every bakery, while our colleagues will proudly wear RNLI badges on their uniforms.
We’re also creating a dedicated Warrens Bakery and RNLI JustGiving page. Anyone taking part in an individual sponsored event will be able to add their fundraising to our combined total.
Craig Wood, our Assistant Retail Director, said:
“Our colleagues voted for the RNLI as their chosen charity for our annual charity partnership. It provides such a vital service, powered by incredibly dedicated staff and volunteers, and we’re determined to raise as much as possible to support its lifesaving work.”
Dave Nicoll, Fundraising and Partnership Lead for the South West at the RNLI, added:
“The RNLI is thrilled to have been chosen as Warrens Bakery’s Charity of the Year, and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us. We’re looking forward to working together on a range of fundraising activities and special events throughout the year.
“It’s also fantastic to see Warrens Bakery donating 10p from every bottle of water sold. Together, this support will help our volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards continue saving lives at sea.”
For more than 200 years, the RNLI has been saving lives at sea around the coasts of the UK and Ireland. Its lifeboat crews and lifeguards rely on public generosity to provide the training, equipment and support they need to keep people safe.
We’re incredibly proud to support the RNLI and look forward to sharing news of our fundraising activities – and the people behind them – throughout the year.
