Provenance Brands support and manage a number of brands such as Warrens Bakery, Simply Cornish, The Great British Crisp Company, Cornish Sea Salt, The Cornish Seaweed Company, Get Fruity and Living Sea Therapy.

We have a superb opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to be responsible for overseeing our Health and Safety practices across our group of brands.

In summary the role will oversee the safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and practices of the company to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice. To develop and maintain a continuous improvement ethos, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment, and minimizing the environment impact of the company’s operations.

Your primary Responsibilities would be:

  • To advise the board and senior management on safety, health and environmental matters, making recommendations as appropriate. Advising on significant and specific changes in legislation.
  • Setting strategic safety, health and environmental objectives, measuring performance and regularly reporting to the board and senior management on company safety, health and environmental issues.
  • Undertake regular company health and safety training needs analysis identifying critical gaps of capability.
  • To communicate effectively between sites and departments in regards to the implementation of safety, health and environmental objectives.
  • To conduct regular site audits and inspections, reporting non-compliance and hazardous conditions; actively identifying areas for improvement and risk reduction.
  • To maintain fire safety and legal compliance across sites, reporting non-compliance and hazardous conditions: actively identifying areas for improvement and risk reduction.
  • To formulate a risk assessment programme across our sites, advising staff as appropriate.
  • Undertake health, safety and environmental accident and incident investigation, to establish root cause and put control measures in place to eliminate or reduce risk.
  • To inspect, evaluate and oversee the use, storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • To maintain appropriate safety, health and environmental records.
  • Liaise with company stakeholders regarding safety, health and environmental e.g. Health and safety Executive; Fire Authorities; Insurance Companies; Local Councils; Environment Agency.

The ideal candidate will have a NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent) and relevant experience.

Confident, friendly, resilient and an excellent communicator, you will have the ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels. You will be IT literate, outcome focussed and able to prioritise and manage your time effectively.

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum based on experience
